At the end of 2006, Yang Honglei received a new product development task, which is a large-length submarine photoelectric composite cable developed by another subsidiary of Yongding Co., Ltd., in which the optical unit needs to assist in research and development.

The biggest difficulty of this light unit is the length of the plate, which requires 41km/plate, which is very difficult, but Yang Honglei thinks it is worth a try.

After taking over this "porcelain work", Yang Honglei, who is in charge of process design, has done her homework carefully, made detailed design and preparation for raw materials, production equipment, technology, packaging and so on, and made a detailed emergency plan for the problems that may arise in the production process.

At that time, it was the Spring Festival. Yang Honglei and his team did not dare to slack off. They worked for 3 consecutive days without sleep, and finally successfully completed the production of 2 sets of 41km optical units. All performance indicators met the design requirements.

"These two optical units were finally made into the longest submarine photoelectric composite cable in China at that time and delivered to customers for use. They can not only replace imported similar products, but also fill the gaps in relevant domestic technologies, creating an output value of nearly 4000 million yuan." Yang Honglei said.

During the research and development, Yang Honglei continuously optimized and adjusted the product structure, technology, and production process, continuously improved product quality, reduced costs, and made positive contributions to the company's transformation, upgrading and development.

In 2014, an overseas customer made a request for high fire-resistant flame-retardant communication cables and hoped to ship them as soon as possible. Time is tight and the task is heavy. Yang Honglei took over the task under pressure.

Yang Honglei said that this is a scientific research with extremely high technical content, and it is also a challenge.
