On May 19, 2019, Mr. Gu Yunkui, founder of Yongding Group, died at his home at the age of 84. In 1978, Gu Yunkui, who had been the secretary of the brigade for more than 10 years, put down his hoe under the recommend of the organization and became the director of the Wujiang Luxu Commune Plastic Factory. One machine, 20000 yuan loan and three old factories were all the assets of the factory at that time.

In the 1980 s, Gu Yunkui extensively researched the market and decisively adjusted the product structure. Finally, he set his sights on the wire market and changed the name of the factory to Wujiang Wire Factory 2, finally occupying a place in the local wire market.

In 1982, Gu Yunkui, who had a keen market awareness, realized that China's communication cable industry would usher in a period of large-scale rapid growth. He organized the technical backbone of the factory to learn technology, purchase equipment, and introduce talents, and finally produced qualified communication cable products. At that time, he became one of the few domestic township enterprises that could produce communication cable products, and established the leading position of the enterprise in China's cable industry.

 

In September 1997, Yongding shares were listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

 

In the 1990 s, Yongding's output value had doubled for many years, but Gu Yunkui did not relax his vigilance. He gradually extended the industry to the field of communication optical cables, and constantly updated his products to firmly occupy the commanding heights of market competition.

In 1997, although Yongding's communication cable and optical cable products were well-known throughout the country, in order to consolidate the advantages of industrial development, Gu Yunkui focused on the capital market, promoted Yongding's listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and created three firsts in Wujiang and the domestic optical cable industry.

 

 

The miracle of township industry created by Gu Yunkui not only witnessed and participated in the qualitative change process of China's communications industry from following to leading, but also made a positive contribution to the formation of the optical cable industry cluster in Wujiang.

From the establishment of the project to the construction and operation, Yongding Hospital broke through the limitation of no resources and no accumulation, and even suffered from a loss in the early stage. However, Gu Yunkui did not regard the construction of the hospital as a profitable project, but regarded it as a return to the society, pinning Gu Yunkui's concern for local medical charities. He believes that Yongding is an enterprise cultivated by Wujiang, so it is natural to do something for the local people and make its own contribution to the local medical cause in Wujiang.

 

 

 

Donations for the construction of the Taipu River Bridge, the renovation of the 318 National Highway, and assistance in the construction of many Hope Primary Schools, the construction of school buildings for some primary and secondary schools, the construction of affordable housing for the hometown, and the annual donation of large sums of money for poverty alleviation ...... After the development of the enterprise, Gu Yunkui's return to his hometown and society is increasing, and Yongding has to take out a large sum of money every year for poverty alleviation.
